The Digital Medium

Like all things that were, and all things that will be, the digital landscape has become our modern-day Wild West. A boundless frontier where countless tools and mediums collide, eclipsing the worn precursors of the past. In this vast and shifting terrain, the challenge lies not only in creation, but in navigating with authenticity—remaining fluid, yet true.

This work began simply: a photograph of the New York and New Jersey skyline, captured from the 50th floor of downtown Manhattan. But in this age of AI, animation, and infinite reinvention, I asked myself—was the photograph alone enough? Could it arrest the gaze, stir curiosity, or ignite imagination? Do the colors and hues truly resonate with the spirit of creativity they seek to reflect?

Perhaps the answer is not in one medium or another, but in the transformation itself—in the blending of photography, illustration, and character, where reality meets vision. At its heart, this is still an image born from an afternoon of exploration, yet reshaped into something more—a moment that stretches beyond what was, into what might be.

With hope, I lean into these evolving tools not as replacements, but as extensions of expression. My prayer is simple: that these new digital frontiers allow me to translate vision into experience, and in turn, captivate the minds and imaginations of those who look upon the work.
